Global Debt Registry was founded in 2005 by a group of industry veterans with a combined 75 years of Credit, Collection and Debt Buying Industry experience.

Issuers, Agency Owners, Debt Buyers, Executive Level IT Managers and Developers, Data Security Experts, Industry Consultants, Attorneys, Brokers and Industry Association Executives were all contributed during product development.

The goal was simple:  To develop a world- class network-based solution that could provide:

1. an account level chain of title
2. a turn-key media management service for the entire industry.
3. a process to guarantee clean and accurate sale file data
4. debt validation assistance

First, a thorough knowledge of each facet of the entire charged-off debt account life-cycle was central to designing, building, and launching the industry’s first and only true debt registry.

Second, a deep understanding of the current compliance, legislative, and regulatory issues was needed.  The purpose was to ensure that our services were capable of answering the call of the Federal, State, and Local regulators and consumer advocates that ensure the Collection and Debt Buying Industries are managing to best practices in their treatment of the consumer while maintaining adherence to current laws.

Third, the solution had to be secure.  Data Security is changing the way everyone is doing business.  GDR is proud to offer a security model designed from the ground up to be PCI-DSS compliant.

Finally, the solution had to be easy to use, yet legally enforceable and at the same time increase the integrity and clarity of industry transactions, reduce transactional risk for all parties, and above all create value for participants.
